La Vuelta de San Miguel de Allende
A loop starting and ending in the historic World Heritage Site 'San Miguel de Allende'
Setting off and ending in the gorgeous town of San Miguel de Allende, a World Heritage Site, this route takes us along some of the area’s water reservoirs before turning back across beautiful farmland on rolling hills.
The route is characterized by its ups and downs, and its brisk pace, but without any particularly long or difficult climbs. Our stop on this route will be in Dolores Hidalgo, which is known as the birthplace of Mexican Independence. Father Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla uttered his famous cry for the independence of Mexico (the Grito de Dolores) there in the early hours of September 16, 1810, in front of Nuestra Señora de los Dolores parish church.
