San Jose Iturbide to Bernal

A paved back roads ride with lots of twisty stuff.

Leaving San Jose Iturbide, we're on the flats for 20km, before we tackle a 5km descent and ride through some rolling roads through some small towns. Then the fun begins.

We climb and then descend to Santa Catarina, before beginning a 50km trek through some back roads along a mountain range. The views are spectacular, and roads twist along the edge of the hills, going up and down along the way before arriving in Toliman, where we stop briefly.

From there, we join the main road and climb to Bernal. There's an immense shoulder on this road, and the climb is long and straight. Along the way, you'll be treated to views of the Peña de Bernal, the world's 3rd largest monolith. Once we get to Bernal, we eat carnitas. It's a rule.
